My name is Lauren, and I create functional art here in Arizona.
I turn my art into tables created from wood and epoxy resin.
Little House on Maui started on Maui in 2020 but has moved with me to Arizona as my little family and I returned home during the pandemic. My husband, daughter and I moved back to Arizona in 2022 after 8 years of building a life there. So, now I make tables in Arizona.
The move was bitter-sweet.
On one hand, we were devastated to have to leave Maui but on the other hand, we were excited to be back with our family and friends while giving our daughter the opportunity to have new adventures on the mainland. We finally bought our forever home in Surprise, Az and it feels like we have truly settled where we are meant to be. I turned our 3 car garage into my work shop or as I like to call it - my Babe Cave. It's been an incredible journey so far.
I currently do 99% of my business online, shipping all over the country. While I am extremely busy, I do wish that I was doing more business locally. On Maui, the sense of community there was overwhelming, and I feel so disconnected from that here. It would be a dream come true to see my work in businesses and homes here in Arizona.
